Background

Rich Williams is the Higher Education Associate for the Student PIRG chapters. Rich graduated from Northern Arizona University in 2008, receiving a BA in History. He was an active student government leader there for 3 years, and in his senior year, spearheaded an effort on campus to work with faculty to incorporate more on-line, low cost textbooks into their course material. For two years, he served as a Board Member for the Arizona Students’ Association, a statewide student directed organization which focuses on keeping Arizona public universities accessible and affordable for all students. In that post, he held the position of Legislative Chair, helped organized grassroots campaigns to make Arizona students heard on budget and tuition issues, and regularly advocated student views to state regents, legislators, and the governor.
